Devil Incarnate by Shaibu Majeed Idowu

Devil Incarnate!

Shaibu Majeed Idowu

.....
Episode One

Our family wasn't such a big family, it only consisted of my late grandfather who was married to three beautiful women ( if beautiful women includes those in bubas way too big for their sizes though) each having at least three children, the first wife did not produce a child as fast as I suppose my grandfather would have wanted, guess that was why he opted for the second one. But I understood that the second one gave birth soon after she was married, and not to just a child but to two and then three and then four. What led him to proceed in marrying the third wife? only God knows! But as fate will have it, it was this same third wife that gave birth to the stern man who later became my father.

Growing up, I used to see all these women as same as my mother majorly because we call all of them 'Maami'. Even the bigger sons who had married still refer to them as that.
My father was a civil servant who worked in the local council before he realised that money from the council alone cannot sustain his family and in extension, his relations. He later burged into large scale farming through my mum whose family had a very vast land mass. With this little near literate family background, my father sees no harm and difficulty in sending I including my remaining four siblings to school. I was the third of my mum. Sister Mercy was my immediate elder sister and my closest pal as we seem to be of the same height and do things mostly together, my other two younger ones are still in primary schools.
In as much as we tried to live as one big and happy family, my father didn't like the idea of living in such a 'family house', so later we moved into a a near completion apartment which he had been building for about two years ago, but to the average; This apartment was moderate.
At age 17, I finished my secondary schools and just at the same time, Tobi, the daughter of one of my stepmother finished secondary school also, so it was our dream to get admitted into the same university. Meanwhile, my close sister, sister mercy finished a year ahead of us, but she decided to learn hair dressing before she entered school, fortunately, the three of us get admitted into the same school the same year. That was like a ceremony in our house the day we received our admission letter to study in a federal polytechnic, my father was so happy because he never thought it could happen so easily.
Our transition into higher institutions opened us to a newer world of fun, of discipline, of hard work, of intense intimacy as I now choose to call my sister, 'Mercy mi', it is a new beginning of what many would called maturity and real life, it was a time for new happenings for all of us and of course, to me personally, of....woes!
First year in school, Tobi and sister Mercy lived in the same apartment, but me being a male and of such demanding to be specially treated, rented a room of my own, Tobi and I were in the same department, Computer Engineering. While sister mercy was in Business Admin.
My first Examination in school was the most anticipated of all, I prepared very hard alongside Tobi, we read and studied questions together and would normally give ourselves assignments to do at home. The examination came, we did it with all our zeal and effort, we went back home for the holidays and then something big happened!
One very sunny day, while my dad was at a meeting with some of his friends, sister mercy, my mum and I were at home, soon my mum informed us that she would be going to the market to get some things, few minutes after she left, a young man came looking looking sister Mercy.
I was the first to see him, immediately I set my eyes on him, I caught glimpse of an event that had happened back then when I travelled to Porthacourt for one of our holidays during secondary school days. It happened that I had gone to the shop to buy something with my friend for his birthdays, at that same shop, some robbers came, injured the cashier and carted away a whole lot of their money. But as they were about leaving, one of them took off his face mask and headed straight for the manager, told him that he sure would be coming back and that he should forget about reporting to the police, as they were too strong to be countered by the police. I managed to look at his face from where I was lying shivering on the floor,; the picture of that same man who opened his mask set into my inner eyes as soon as I see him but I this man will never know anything about me. I too acted as if nothing happened, he simply stretched his hand towards me for a handshake, I took it and welcome him. He eventually asked for sister Mercy and jokingly as 'man thing' said I might already know his mission to which I coughed grudgingly, and said of course yes.
 I'll get her for you!
I went directly inside and thought of what would possibly be the next best thing to do in the shortest of Times, before sister Mercy sees him, before mother comes from market and before Dad comes from his meeting. I though, I've got to prevent my sister from falling in love with this man. It'll be the greatest mistake I'd be making if I allowed and even called her to meet him myself. Luckily for me, sister Mercy was taken her bath; hmm I hope she s not bathing as part of her preparation to meet this man? What, she was expecting him? No no no, cos if that is the case, she's not going to see him today, I promise!
I went outside to meet the man, but he seems to be making a call, I tiptoed to get an idea of what the discussion was and I heard something like..." I'm out of the circle now, let them continue with the plan, I will be at the warehouse tomorrow, we're hitting it big this time" this confirmed my thoughts and cleared any more doubt on me. I allowed him end his call before I burged out in order to avoid any suspicion then I went straight to him and informed him that it seems sister Mercy had went to the sallon for her hair because she said she'll be expecting someone today. I suggest you call her number to know which sallon she had gone to and probably meet him there.
I smiled and said, "E be lyk sey my sister is in love o!"
He smiled as well and said " Ok thank you bro, I'll be on my way then and I'll call to know where she is. Anyway, in case I'm not able to reach her, just me inform her that Micheal came for her"

"All right bro, I'll do that"

He went! I sighed heavily and prayed to God to forgive me. Anyway its not as if I've not been lying before without praying for forgiveness but we all seem to pray for forgiveness when we think we had said important lies. Other trivia lies aren't so bad or serious after all. I thought. But this very particular one is a must.
Few minutes later sister Mercy came out with with just a towel wrapped on her, she asked if someone had asked of her and I quickly said no, and...are you expecting anyone? She replied yes aburo.
She later got to know that Micheal actually came for her and I was the one that stopped Micheal from seeing her. That day sister Mercy got really mad at me. She cried and cried all day and all night long. I wondered what could have been so special in her not meeting Micheal that day. Haha, shey na love? Ahh... I just let everything passed over because to me it's just one of these normal things nah. I just couldn't tell sister mercy what made me stop that man from seeing her.
Few weeks later, school resumed and we were back in school, mummy had packed our bags with every food item we could possible need. Things went on well for the first three weeks then towards the fourth week, the result for our last exams were out, Tobi got the news first, so she called my phone to inform me. I later joined her and we both went to check our results. Well, Tobi had an A and me? I had a B, specifically 68B. We were happy anyway, to get B in school those days no be moi moi. Sister Mercy didn't call us, I guessed she wasn't aware that the results were out, so we went to her department and helped her checked. We were shocked to see the results, 14F! What!!! What could have happened? Sister mercy used to be more serious than I was and in fact, more brilliant than I was, how could she have failed? We called her phone and she didn't pick the call. I immediately went in search of her friend, sister Wunmi. It was from Wunmi that I later got to know that Sister mercy actually missed the exams. She was not in school the day the exam was written. But where did she went to?" I asked.
Well, she said then that her mummy was very sick and that she needed to go and take care of her.
Tobi looked at me at hearing that,i was surprised also, mum was never sick recently, and besides sister Mercy didn't go home.
"Okay, thanks sister Wunmi" I said and left.
Tobi couldn't wait any longer, she asked me. But Bro Shegun, where do you think sister Mercy went to that would have been more important to her than her education? Where?
I too wonder o, but Promise me one thing, no one else must know about this, especially back at home, because they'll feel so bad at her.
Trust me na, mouth sealed!
That's my girl. We both laugh it off.
Few weeks later at the cyber cafe, iit happened that I was trying to search for some materials on net, I've tried hard but I couldn't just get anything useful, you know those times when you search all through Google and all you see are just useless notes that do not even give a clue to what you're searching for. "And I have to submit this thing tomorrow o" I didn't knew when I said that. The guy next to me just looked at me and laughed. By now, I was very depressed, I felt like just crying. Just then a young lady tapped me on the shoulder, I looked back immediately and was greeted by that beautiful and lavish smile. "Oh, sorry, if you don't mind, I guess you're trying to get some stuff for that programing paradigm shey?
Exactly, and God knows whether nobody had done something like that before, I can't just find anything useful. Though I didn't know this lady, but that was not a concern, if at all she could help, that'll be all I needed from her.

He's Dead Again (globally read story)- Part one

He’s Dead Again!

-Part 1-
Episode I

"...I had been a man for over twenty years, twenty good years in this sllee- ep, but no woman had ever toasted me, now that I'm growing to be a woman, grh-rh, look at them, they are on a queue to marry me. Fools…"

...That was senseless me after I woke up from my sleep. For how long I had slept, I don't have an idea, but I sure knew I didn't spent the last two days in my senses, not after three bottles of rendez-vous mysteriously disappeared out of my sight. I looked out to grab the table's edge, but I only managed to grab something softer and more coarse than what a table should be like, in the thinnest of sights, it looked like I was lying by the gutter side, sunk in mud water and playing a nice host to flies. I managed to get up on my feet, but bent like an old man in his 120s, my legs are in no way able to support my standing, it's like they’re broken! Then as if someone was pushing me behind, I threw my hands backward in pursuit of whatever might be behind me; but that only got dizzy me back into the pit, once again I'm down and now in more pain.

I began to see dark and grey blurred human like shadows moving randomly within my eyes, Oh this isn't madness at all, I'm about to invent a kaleidoscope!

.....

Everywhere was so rowdy, indiscriminate noises boomed over my ears, are they speaking Japanese or probably Philippine? I don't seem to relate what they are saying but I can only remember a line faintly reaching my remaining senses:

" let's take him to his wife before he dies!"

I immediately replied,

"Oh yes, she lives at the riverside, my beautiful princesses, let me see him before he flies away, lovuuuu' mu o"

I actually don't care to know if what I was saying made any sense or not. Whatever they said next made no sense to my hearing as well, these shadows are becoming too much...
.....

"...thank God he has woken up, but are you sure he got his senses back?"

I faintly heard someone asking the doctor,

“I'm not so sure, until he is able to speak, then we can access his senses"

I opened my eyes. Jeez I was welcomed by that distinctive smell of hospital wards, I looked at my arm, and a rubber tube was tied to it. I traced the tubing upward to its source, there- a bag of medic water was gently and spontaneously dripping into my body. I still don't understand what I'm doing here, then I saw Theresa sitting on the only available chair with her head buried in her legs supposedly sobbing. I became more confused and I called out to her

"Theresa",

She shockingly rose up to her feet and rushed to my bed, sat beside me and asked a little less than a dozen questions in rapid succession, I looked straight into her eyes and asked,

"What happened?"

She opened her mouth and nothing came out thereof, she gasped and gasped and burst out in tears, finally she spoke!

"Can you see me clearly?"

“Of course I can see you, tell me what happened”

She didn't reply, instead hugged me and whispered 'I'm sorry'.

Being the persistent being I've always been, I asked her again,

 “What happened?”

"...Mayowa is dead!" She said

"Who is Mayowa?"

“Hmm, a lot had happened sweetheart" the major thing is that you... you...” she scratched her neck and looked away from me,

“What did I do?” I asked

“You... you lost your me-m-me-memory!”

“What do you mean by memory? By the way; who is your sweetheart? And who is Mayowa?”

"Ah! The doctor is here, Doctor, he just spoke to me, but I'm afraid he had not yet recovered his memory. He can't remember who Mayowa is and asked why I'm calling him sweetheart! Please help me doctor".

"Just relax young lady, he'll be fine, that's probably more of the effects of the drugs we gave him, he'll need up to a week to be fully active and regain his senses fully again, trust me"

"Ok o doctor, please just help me"

I felt a little pain around my leg as Theresa bounced back into the too-small-for-two bed, I tried to raise my leg to see what happened to my leg, but it was heavier than a bucket of cement. I looked at Theresa, she looked at me coincidentally, tears fell from her eyes again, I was just about to sit up and drag her closer to me when my neck refused to elevate; it too was carrying a heavier head of mine on it. I gnashed my teeth and squeezed my face in pain, eyes closed, when I open them back, Theresa has lost it all, she was crying, I felt like dying, I joined her. I sobbed too!

Not long afterwards, a nurse came in, she asked:

"Sorry, are you Mrs Theresa?" Pointing to Theresa

"Yes I am". She replied.

"...I'm afraid some policemen want to see you".

‘Ghen-ghen ghen-ghen!’

She left us pitifully

No doubt, fear and shock caught Theresa, but not me! I'm already in my lost word, enjoying the greatest deal of confusion ever in my life. I looked at Theresa to ask what is going on but I seem to be dumb, my vocal muscles are so painful that they can no longer utter a word. I managed to close my widely opened mouth and waited for the worst to happen. But unfortunately, the worst is not yet happening, this is just the beginning!

"...Good day ladies and gentlemen, (there cometh the men of the forces) ...this is Inspector Mathew from Ocean view divisional police command and..." the other young lady took over,

"...Inspector Shileola from Ocean view divisional police command. And you are Ms Theresa right?"

 Theresa nodded

"Your attention is needed at the station ma"

Theresa said no word; she just walked up to me and planted a kiss on my fore head. Held my hand and demanded that I be strong and that we will surely come out of this.
I looked at her and said I promise. Even though I seriously don't understand what we were in and coming out of. The inspectors led her out of the room. I breathed heavily and prayed to God to at least, make me understand all that's happening.
Not long after, I slept off...
...when I woke up, almost everything around me had changed except for the fact that I'm still lying on that hospital bed, the rubber tubing connected to my arm was no longer there, I can't feel my legs anymore, no pain, yet no leg in sight! I just hoped they were being covered by the blanket, but I can't even attempt to raise the blanket to check. My arms are not rising up yet no pain, I asked my self, have I lost nervous control?
Fear grabbed my being, but one thing I took long to notice was that I wasn't alone in the room, about five other people were there with me each standing or moving aimlessly about. I managed to turn my eyes around in their sockets, no one of them, no one! looked familiar to me.

I opened my lips, luckily they went apart, tried to utter 'doctor' and I did! Everybody turned to me immediately, I wondered if all of them were my doctor. Then the door opened, a more familiar gentleman walked in, placed his stethoscope on my chest and removed them, beckoned on one of the ladies, told her

“your husband is in critical condition , we need to see Janet right now or else, I'm afraid..."

But how come? Is the doctor also mad? How am I ‘your husband’ to everybody? Besides, I don't even know this lady!
The woman walked up to me weeping and said;

“Please my dear, tell us what you know about Janet”

I looked at her as I was too confused to say a word. What question should I ask first? Who are you? Are you my wife? What am I doing here? What happened to me? How did we meet? Who is Theresa? Is she also my wife? Who is Janet? Why police men? What am I to tell? Why must I say something? Why does the doctor need Janet?

Countless questions came into my mind, but I was too dumb to utter any, I looked at her and took a deep breathe, then gently closed my eyes and...

...the cardiograph beeped continuously faster, most lights turned red, my heartbeat quadrupled, I'm beginning to see grey shadows, I heard people shouting doctor, doctor, doctor and bang! A heavy shocking plate hit my chest and I laid low... I lost consciousness!

What happened then, I might never know

.......

Five days later, I woke up again on my bed, this time, larger than the one I'm used to. There are no rubbers again on my arms, a picture of me hugging a young lady was hanging on the wall, no doctor or nurse in sight. Ah! This is home? I thought!
A knock on the door, someone entered, it was Theresa.

“...how are you doing today? Thank God you're awake. I've brought your meal. Sit up and eat dear”

I looked at my self, can I really sit up? I raised my leg, they moved! And then my neck, no pain! My back departed from the mattress, I sat up; looked around, and said to Theresa, "Am I alright?"

She said almost instantly, “very well dear, you are alright now”

What!!! That 'now' she added got me more worried.

“It means I've not been alright since? I asked. “Now tell me all that happened!”

She promised to tell me all only on one condition... that I eat my food first.
I did. I took not more than six spoon that I felt full, I told her I'm okay, and she insisted I eat more. But I can't just take anymore.

“Oya, tell me now” I sternly said as I looked at her.

She started:

“Two weeks ago...” I listened attentively, but oh no...

Grrhh Grrhh, her phone rang. She picked it up and placed it on loudspeaker. The voice came without greetings:

"...the time is now; they are coming in the evening, get him from that house before you leave me with no option"
"Who's that?" I asked in awe

“My dear no time to waste, please please, let's get out of here immediately, I promise to tell you everything after we escape”

Gosh! Is this coincidence? Or just cheer ill luck?

Just when I thought I was going to finally know why I'm in such circumstances, I lost it again! I have to escape from God-knows-who and why, I told her to come and carry me, but she said:

“But dear you can walk now”

“For sure? So I can now walk? What happened to my leg that I couldn't feel some days ago? What happened to my nerve control lost? And the red lights? And who is…”
“Hmm, Wait! Are you really sure I'm not dead yet? Are you sure am still sane?”

 I asked Theresa.

“Yes you are. Listen, just be strong, I will tell you what happened when we have the time, but for now, we must leave here immediately”

“Hmm”

I sighed. Placed my legs on the floor, surprisingly no pain! I felt like smiling, but just too confused that I don't even know if I should be happy that I can stand on my feet or be sad that I still have to escape from what I don't know.

All the same, Theresa smiled at me. I wondered in my mind if she's really my wife. then she must be very nice if she's not!
Theresa picked up some necessary things into her bags, held my arms and walked me out, it's around noon and for the first time in recent times, It seemed like I have my memory back I though. I once again saw my boss’s car parked in front of the house, but this time strayed with bullet piercings. I looked at Theresa and then the car, I guess she knew want I wanted to say, she just said

“I will tell you everything”

I gulped in saliva, “where are we going?”

“You ask too much questions for now dear, let's just go...” and of course, we went!

Few minutes later, we boarded a taxi and headed to wherever she told the driver. Inside the taxi, I dipped my hands into my pocket and brought out a note, I read the content:

"... You have successfully fooled me but I promise to teach you the bitterest lesson of your life"

I showed this to Theresa, she read it too. Beneath the sentence was a hyphen followed by five asterisks. I tried to figure out how I got this, who could have sent this to me? Theresa looked at me again and asked,

“Please who is Janet?”

Now I felt I needed to talk.

“I really don't know anyone called Janet, I swear. But I can think of somebody I can remember, yes, it's Linda!”

The driver brought the car to a halt immediately I mentioned Linda;

“Jesus Christ!!!”

Theresa shouted. The tires screeched and we all budged forward, I hit my back hard against the seat due to the effect of our return from the forward budge... my leg, my head or my shoulder........ I closed my eyes and I just thank God I wasn't hypersensitive, that would have been my end.

“What the hell are you driving?” She screamed out! That was Theresa.

…And the gentle man's voice came, “we are at the place"

“So? That was why you need to stop like that??? Gosh!”

Well as for me, no comment, I'm in my season of calamities, I thought to myself!

I banged the door opened and forced my self out, Theresa needed not to be told, she was out already, she came straight for me, “hope you're alright?” She asked, concerned. The taxi driver darted away.

"Oh yes I'm fine, but come to think of it, why will that man just stop in that manner after he heard me say Linda, I think something is wrong somewhere, I smell danger"

Theresa paused for some seconds and then relieved herself and said,
 “All will be well!”

I thought to myself, indeed so well! Very well! It better be.
Then a young lady came out f the gate just beside us. she hugged Theresa and came for me, oh! It dawned on me that I actually know this young lady, she's probably Theresa's younger sister, hugged me tightly, that was when I realised I still have pains around my shoulders, I put on a grin and guess she saw that face of mine that she let go off me, and said sorry. “…but I'm so so happy you can finally walk!” She added.

So everyone knew about me more than I know of myself? I can't wait to listen to Theresa!

We went inside and sat. Without wasting a minute, I demanded that Theresa tells me what I needed to know.

She started;

“Farouk, two weeks ago, you were invited to a birthday party of a friend. It was to hold at Vatican beach at Ajah, before then you made an appointment with one particular person, who by now I guess is Janet, however you went to the party without calling to inform Janet that you won't be able to come over to her place, whilst she had been waiting tirelessly for you. At the party, maybe someone saw you and informed her that you were enjoying yourself there leaving her alone at home, so she got angry and sent some of her boys to discipline you. But these boys were not the only one after you, a young girl by name Binta, had some troops following you; she needed you to provide the documents of her dad's company which her elder sister gave to you as a proof of her love for you. Though largely unknown to you that they were documents, because she packaged them in an envelope which she told you to open when you get home. But I guess you never did. So Binta’s men got you first, when they demanded for the documents and you denied of being in possession of any documents, they beat you to stupor, it was in this pain that Janet's men found you, so they decided not to beat you but get you drunk and injected you with a drug causing you to temporary lose your memory. After the drinks, they dropped you at the gutter.
But while we were looking for you, these Janet's men sent a letter to me informing me that you were having a meeting with someone at a hotel and that you had given them my number to inform me that I should bring one of your bags to you at the hotel, well when it wasn't from you, I smelt foul play so I didn't, but again they assured me that if I can’t make it that day that I shouldn't worry much, I can bring it the next day. That gained my confidence again.
But later in the night, I received a call that somebody was lying unconscious and probably drunk at the road side, which was how I found you and took you to the hospital".

I looked at her and didn't just know what to say, and then it dawned on me that something was missing in the link,

“...who is Mayowa?” I asked!

“Oh, He was Binta's boyfriend, Binta used him to get into you since he knew you very well and you were once workmates”

That was when I remembered who Mayowa was, the same guy who saved my ass from getting sacked from the school during the last NECO exams when I was implicated on a malpractice scandal.

“So Mayowa is dead now? How”

“Janet's men saw him giving you a signal to evacuate that party, so they thought maybe he would expose them since he also knew one of the guys, so they killed him later”

“Gosh! So why does the doctor wanted to see Janet”

“Hmm…” Theresa sighed,

“…Janet later got to know about her sister’s plans and deeds, she made an attempt to inform the policemen and after calling them, minutes later, she went missing, and since she was the only one who knew where the documents and Binta travelled to, the policemen had been searching for her, so the doctor wanted to see her first and probably make her talked to you before the police get her, she's almost getting mad after all the scenes.”

But one thing is, the more Theresa tells me, the more I become confused, didn’t she just told me that Janet gave the documents to me? Now she’s saying Janet was the only one who…. Gosh! This is way too complex. By all indication, Theresa herself was never involved in this mess seriously, so why did the policemen came to arrest her?

“how did you know all these information? And What's YOUR real relationship with me?” I asked.

Theresa looked at me and said,

"…I am Mayowa's sister!”

I was shocked!

“How possible? Mayowa's sister?”
She replied,

“Yes. Mayowa actually helped you then during the NECO scandal all because he knew you were dating me”.

My morphological being changed immediately, goose pimples grew instantly on my body, I shivered. So Mayowa actually saved and then later got killed all because of me? And her very own sister still see reason to be with me?
I went on my knees, pleaded to Theresa to forgive me. I held her arm and...

...she was crying. I felt her pain too
I told her I understand how she felt but surprisingly, she said
"No dear, you don't. You don't understand how I feel".

I got puzzled, and asked her

"Is there anything else I need to know?"

She looked at me and then the young girl who had came to open the gate for us came closer to me and started crying too. I got confused.

"What's happening here? Please just tell me, I promise I will understand.”

The young girl looked up and said,
“Bro Farouk, It was my mum who called Aunt Theresa to leave that house, she is a police officer, and their team are coming to arrest you and Aunt Theresa, she saved you both at the expense of a very high possibility of her being sacked!"

I got frightened the more, so it means they discovered?
"But God why? What have I really done wrong? I knew no matter how painful I was, Theresa' s pain is much more intense than mine. I moved straight to her and said.

"Theresa, I swear I still can't vividly remember you, but God bear me witness, I cannot possibly love any other person more than I love you now. I know I have brought too much pain and calamity upon you, still you stood by me. Now no matter what happens, it's my time to fight for you and your loved ones too. I breathed heavily, ... I am going to the police station. I need to defend Mum!"

“No no no, You can't. This is wholly not your fault, it will only worsen matters and eventually lead you into more troubles. Besides, remember that you have not fully recovered. Please don't just think of that"

I looked at her and nodded,

"I know the possible risks and troubles it can bring upon me, but come to think of it, haven't I already been into troubles? What matter is worse than these? In fact, I am becoming a trouble myself. Look, even though I've not fully recovered, I want you to understand that I might never fully recover from this, so don't even bother about recovering, I'm okay and ready to face my fate instead of running from them. Besides, mum helping us shouldn’t be at her regrets, promise me to be strong, just the way you've always told me” I moved closer to her and hugged her closely, this time not even minding if I felt pain or not, I've decided to overcome my pains,. I drew her younger sister close also and told them: "by all possible means, I promise you mum will be saved from these complications.
I withdrew my self from them. And turned back, Theresa moved closer to me and held my shoulders, she said:" if you must go, then I will go with you!”

"No no no dear, you cannot go with me, its going to be a very dangerous mission, but I'm ready for it, and I don’t want to hurt you anymore”
Just as we’re still arguing on this, somebody knocked on the door…and from the sound we’re hearing, it’s not just a single person, they seem to be in group.
We got frozen! Who could it be? Mum? The police? Who?
As we didn’t open the door very quickly, the door banged opened and…

A world for Thinkers....

Just like the world get more and more connected, so does our mind; it's a vast connection!

Thursday, 28 April 2016

A day to die well

       A DAY TO DIE WELL!

Tell me that which resides deep in you
Against the will of our land, say; a sorcerers view,
Destined to be lost in the nile
Far away from home, she writes... in lieu:

"For the love of my star, the painter's son
That wherever be he, I so follow.
So away I go, travelling rays of the sun
Till joy found buffer this pain, my sorrow "

Where I be, I swear to care not
For death harnessed beckon in mine vine;
In him alone is free, a treasure you n'er bought
And dreadlocked be our twist, but I'll be fine.

So unto this journey I'm lost, an empire's outcast!
Betrayed by my phlegm, against her will,
Sold out to the wild, swallowed by the vast
A mortal's fate, belated neither by faith nor zeal.

And when I found the sculpture laid
Closer to the beauty of life, again I drew,
To touch it's body, for a dime not paid
Sake for a wine without taste, though well brewed.

Hurray! This be the perfect moon

An amazing insight to the future!!! hot and interesting!

When I was Seventy!

 By Shaibu Majeed Idowu
When I was seventy! (Readers discretion advised).

“You children of nowadays are just out of hands, I remember then, we were bred with high moral and discipline, our girls wore lingerie and g-strings only when going out. Bikini? Oh, ladies wore that only during wedding ceremonies. Women were even so shy and ashamed of nudity that they wore pants when visitors are around. You wouldn’t even have sex with a stranger until he had told you he loves you, and he must use a condom! that’s only when you are allowed to take him to your room and not in the parlour, so your noise wouldn’t disturb mum and dad. But now, all these have changed, you no longer have morals, you are not afraid of nudity anymore, God have mercy”

I told that to my daughter last year during my 69th birthday ceremony, she replied:
“Majeed, common stop sounding like that, that’s too lame and archaic, your generation was so blind to civilisation”

When I was seventy, things didn’t happen like this, now we’ve changed a lot. Then no one believed in orderliness, that’s too cruel. There exists nothing like gender, it actually didn’t matter, male or female? Just a choice of birth, and that’s the end.

When you reach age twelve, you shouldn’t be a Virgin if your parents are civilised at all, why keep the dignity? you already have it, so give it out! you see, being a girl means you are free to your life, so explore your fantasies, this is the real way out!

Who says being gay is unacceptable? Our media even preached it, you know, our population has to reduce, and if the rate is too slow, why not help manually, we can happily kick one or two out of the family, yes everybody shouldn’t live. Killing has no sanction, it’s just a case of who’s stronger, if you are smarter, then you could survive and in fact, that Is the real people needed. We get married, yes; and that means not much, you see, a lady has to be satisfied whenever she has the drive, so tonight am just too tired for you, but you can call on any other man to satisfy you dear. And of course, I’ll love to see you scream lovingly!

When you wake up tomorrow, I might have been to the orgy, so don’t hesitate to get my daughter in the mood, she can’t afford to be lonely you know, so have fun with her, she’s totally yours. …and who would you actually want me to call tonight, James? Oh he was here last week, and besides, he’s too aggressive. Tom will do just fine!

When I was seventy, I tell you, leadership had no style, it was ‘kill or be killed’, and who really cared if you are dead? Well, maybe the Anatomists! At least, every specimen is useful in the lab! We were not actually led, we were simply following, and that defined real democracy.

Interestingly, when I was seventy, life was fun, fantasies turned reality, musics weren’t sung, they were simply played in the mind, for life in the beginning was uncovered, so choirs need not dress up, simply praise God in whole flesh, let the men appreciate the Lord’s doing through your unhidden beauty! In fact, holy sex occurred on the alter, so doing will you only beget holy beings. And the beautiful veiled ladies need not be veiled, better viewed in their bikini strands. This is real civilisation!

Classes were strictly to the laid out curriculum, practical done real and theories? Not so much of them. We had realistic tutors. For instance, biology was taught in the lab and for every experiment to be done, you bring a live specimen and even for reproduction topics, students demonstrate coitus in vitro, nothing hidden and nothing more!

Now, you barely go to classes, everyone of you already knew what it meant. When I was seventy, ATMs had no secret identity, Naira was not a currency, and government meant nothing to the governed, I told you we simply followed. Now I’ve turned ninety, I’m leaving the world for your very spoilt generation to continue, but remember, before God and man We were not, and will never be as corrupt as you are now. Get me a teen porn star for a last taste!…and before that…I hope when you reach my age, you will realise how disciplined we live so you will compare your generation to mine.

"That was the life we lived long ago when I was seventy, very very long ago, my daughter."
